opened in Otto-Eldred. This meant there was a Center in each school district
in McKean County, ensuring resources for all families in the County was nearby. - The Centers began to administer the Pennsylvania Youth Survey. This survey, sometimes called the PAYS Survey, is given to grades 6, 8, 10 and 12 in an effort to evaluate alcohol and drug use as well as risk and protective factors among McKean County youth. |

- Through a four year $975,000 grant from the
Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency, the Family
Centers were able to build on and expand the
Strengthening Families Program (also known as SFP) in McKean County.
SFP had been offered to families in Kane and Bradford for a few years prior to 2006.
The grant allowed SFP to be offered in all the school districts in McKean County
by adding the program in Otto-Eldred, Port Allegany and Smethport. - The Family Centers received the Communities That Care Award through PCCD for the Strengthening Families Program for the second year in a row. |
