The Centers Programs Work
The Centers have "free programs to help families. There are all kinds of things to do with your family like Playgroup and Family Fun Nights. They also come to our home and do activities with the kids to help us all spend time together."

Programs of The McKean County Family Centers
Choosing A Program?
Each program of the McKean County Family Center targets different age groups or issues. As you navigate through the menu on the left looking at the various programs, keep the following points in mind to find a program that's right for you:
- programs are age or grade specific.
- each program has a different purpose.
- some programs are offered year round, while others occur a few times a year.
- programs may be just one session, while others are weekly.

For example, Parent-Child Playgroup:
- is for birth-5 year olds and their parents
- helps the child develop social and language skills as well as providing a place for parents to meet, connect, and bounce ideas of one another
- is offered year round
- occurs weekly at each Center
Prevention Programs
Many of the Family Center programs were chosen with "prevention" in mind.
Prevention programs are those that work at preventing an issue before it starts. They
target the cause(s) of the problem being focused on so as to reduce the risks.
Prevention is a lot like taking care of a heart. There are certain things someone can
do in order to prevent a heart attack in the future. Eating right and exercising
regularly will reduce the risk that a person will have a heart attack. In the same way
